Hey there, friends! Today we are with a new episode of the Dragon Quest XI voice drama collection, one that answers a most fascinating question: aside from that incredible Sylvando performance we get to see, what kind of spectacles does Gallopolis offer exactly? We join Veronica and Serena for a night of revelry and boisterous fun at the circus, for they witness history being made on the stage: who is going to perform? And to what end? You will have to read to find out!
It’s been a while since the last post! Life has been quite intense and difficult these months, but it’s time for a brand new episode of the Dragon Quest XI voice drama collection~ This one I’m particularly attached to, it’s undeniably one of the funniest episodes the DLC content has to offer and I had a great time working on it! Let us join Krystalinda and Frysabel in a bizarre, quirky adventure about store management and how to deal with your customers and their life issues…!
How were your summer holidays, my friends? Hopefully you all had a great time! I was able to concentrate on a couple projects that required special care, this being one of them: Episode 6 of the Dragon Quest XI voice drama DLC is the first one to be comedic in both style and nature, not to mention this time we are dealing with Japanese poetry! I am so glad this episode gave me the opportunity to study a subject I’ve never been too familiar with before! I tried my level best to stay true to the original compositions while still being faithful to the localization and its perks, believe me when I say that much love was poured into this one! With that being said, it’s time to join our heroes in this bizarre adventure!
The Dragon Quest X Summer Festival 2022 event was so much fun! And of course, the fact I’m here today talking about it can only mean one thing… It’s time for a new live stage play! Just like last time during the Autumn Festival event, we got a new special episode written by scenario chief Atsushi Narita and performed live by the voice actors! These events are meant to be canon to the story that is currently being told with Ver. 6 and star Yuriza, the heroine of this new arc, as well as four of the heroes involved in the Celestial Pilgrimage: Fostail, Rinasce, Kabu and Dortam. We get to take a look at some never-before-seen interactions between these characters, learn some interesting details about their motives and feelings, and even participate in a final interactive act where our heroes will have to face unexpected danger! More than an hour’s worth of content for a huge episode with some very emotional moments, it was such a pleasure to work on it! Fans of my translation notes corner can also look forward to some intense action!
We are back with more Dragon Quest XI content! Can you believe Erik gets to be the star of the biggest episode the voice drama collection has to offer? And it’s quite the intriguing story too, in which many questions about the past of our blue-haired thief will be answered! Under what circumstances did he and Derk meet? What kind of adventures did they live while working together? Join this unlikely duo for an emotional journey full of twists and turns!
First of all, happy 36th anniversary to our beloved series! Here we are with a new episode of the Dragon Quest XI Voice Drama Collection, and this one is a heavy hitter both in terms of content and size: a charming tale of courage and love, this time we join Serena and Veronica in a little adventure from their past, one that was key to the development of the Arboria twins as we know them. And who knows, you might even meet a new gooey friend down the road!
The Soldier and the Strategist… although it would take a while for them to be known as such! Episode 3 gives us a deeper look at the backstory of Hendrik and Jasper, their first meeting and the struggles they had to face in the early stage of their lives. Were these two just destined to become good friends, or perhaps there is more to it?
Thus I leave you in their company, I will see you soon for more!
As promised, we’re back with more Dragon Quest XI voice drama content!
And this episode is very dear to me, too. You see, Sylvando is one of my favourite characters in the entire series, thus I feel being able to know more about his early life and struggles is a privilege and something I should be grateful for, and I certainly am! I hope you will have a great time with the origin story of the Great Sylvando, entertainer extraordinaire!
Well… sort of, still a few days to go! The work on Volume II of the Rubiss novel continues, but it will take a while longer due to an incredibly busy winter schedule, please bear with it. But in the meanwhile, would you allow me to introduce you to the only kind of drama I love and cherish? The voice drama, and not just a random one, but none other than the Dragon Quest XI Voice Drama Collection! Yes, the additional short stories from the bonus DLC that never was, at least for us Western players. But now they are indeed here! We’re starting from the intro and the first episode, which follows the adventures of Jade and Rab and tells us how they were faring during their travels right after the fall of Dundrasil. It makes for a very compelling story, I honestly wasn’t expecting this level of engagement from it! I will work on the other episodes one at a time, since their own nature allows for it, so you can definitely look forward to more future content!
The Dragon Quest X Autumn 2021 event provided us with an incredible amount of news concerning Version 6 and what’s to come, but that’s not all: it also featured a one-hour long screenplay, performed live by the voice actors of the characters involved. What’s special about this is that not only this screenplay was written by the game scenario chief Atsushi Narita and it’s canon to the Dragon Quest X story, but it was also specifically made in order to bridge the events of Version 5 to those of the upcoming expansion, sharing additional lore for characters such as Fostail and Naradia, while also giving us players a splendid, touching epilogue to the adventures of Yushka, Asval, Nagin and Irusha. This work required an incredible amount of research on my part in order to be adapted and translated into English the proper way, so it will feature my signature Translation notes corner at the very end where I discuss name choices for places, characters and what the thought process behind all of them was, hopefully you will find it an interesting read.
Well then, it’s time to join Yushka and the others in their last adventure!
